Hmmmm......... fall brings out the rustic in me and a LGS has a NIB one of these at a  considerable discount. I think I would replace grips with either wood or faux ivory tho'. The blue isn't as dull or matte as the pic.
Think this would be a good woods roaming companion for the fall/winter hunting seasons. 357 mag is the caliber of the discounted one in our town.

Blackhawks are nice guns and not to pricy, I have several in different cals. and like them all. You should try the 41 Mag. MxdAzn9, you should try them all!! We'll have you shooting revolvers soon.

Woody, new BHs tend to run around $425-450 for blue around here and this one is $369 otd. I've owned a couple in the past and they are nice enough. The deal isn't a screaming bargain but just enough to make it a good buy IMHO. Used ones in nice shape here are going for $ 325-350 or so. The 41 mag is a fine cal. and I had a S&W mod.57 years ago that was a fine gun. The avail of reloading  supplies locally plus the fact that I already have a carbine in 357 and a little brass and bullets make this the one for me. If it were 45C that would be good too. Mods would be limited to new grips and the Ruger trick if I buy it.

It's made out of 3/8 and 1/4 AC Exterior Plywood. It's 11 feet in length and should weigh between 50 and 60 pounds, and powered by trolling motor. You can go here and see what they have , I got the little one man job.   http://www.gatorboats.com/

Woody that is just plain cool! Cool Keep us posted please, I think this is something I may be interested in doing too. Doesn't look too hard and their designs for low draft seem very sensible.

Roger Wilco...The plans are all hand drawn but clear enough to understand.  The instruction sheets are pretty detailed.  Even I should be able to follow them.
When the crappy spawn here they go to the back waters that are full of bursh tops, and that little boat should be ideal for that. I plan to be there with them , on the east end of Sardis Res. I have absolutly no fish in the freezer at all for the winter.  When the water warms up to about 60 degrees, I'll break out the flyrod and work the bream (bluegill) beds in the small lakes and ponds around here.

Sounds very good. I used to fish some but...... kinda got away from it. Have been thinking about doing some again. Your plan sounds very enjoyable. Thanks for telling about it.
