I thought so. Perhaps he'll show up before too long.

Ok, I traded a Marlin 60 w/ a bit of a jamming tendency for a nib 597. So far it's true love. Homely and plain , but a joy to shoot. Doesn't like Winchester Xpert truncated cone hp rds, but everything else is a go. All the stuff about the factory 10 rd  mags being hard to load to full capacity is not the case here I'm happy to say. Have one 30 rd Remington factory mag and it too is a winner. Have some $7.99 Eagle hicaps on order( these I gather are supposed to work well) and will report on them later. So far no mods, except for adding sling studs and an East German AK sling that almost exactly matches the color of the stock. Will have some real pics soon ,..... until then.. also am thinking of painting stock tan or coyote brown.

Any plans on scoping it? I've found that my cheapo Barska (IIRC?) scope makes shooting long distance shots exciting and easy.   Wink Cool

Probably not , as this one is gonna be a plinker( and my practice gun) but I can see having a scoped one also maybe down the road.  Wink
