I picked this up today, couldn't get the time off this week. It's a Uberti copy of a Smith & Wesson Schofield revolver in 45 colt cal. I would of liked it in 45 S&W cal. but for the price I'll take it. It belonged to a friend and he only took it to the range once and I was the one to fire it so I guess I got it new a few years ago but didn't know it! It's like new and came with the box, had to give him money for this, couldn't pay with porn this time Frank! Thats a story I'll have to tell some time when I post a photo of my pornografie gun! Anyway, here it is, another 45 colt cal. gun, 7 I think now.

Nice, very nice, revolver. In the American West these were common military side arms and popular with civilians. You'd never know if from the movies though. The Czar of Russia was so impressed with this design that he bought it for his own military. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_&_Wesson_No._3_Revolver

Nice Don! I wonder sometimes why top break revolvers went out of style. They certainly have a certain flair about them. Sunset

Wow, looks brand new in the pics to me! And IIRC the Russians had a different model made specifically for them. It had an extension to the trigger guard and the back strap came further back?

Yes KB it is a 7", Have yet to try it with 45 schofield ammo but have a box on the shelf loaded with Trail boss so next warm day I'm off to the range, bought 3 guns this winter and haven't shoot any of them yet. I don't care much for the cold!!!

I'm looking forward to hearing how this one shoots. If it's anywhere close to shooting as good as it looks , you're in for a real treat. That is one fine looker there, imho.

How does it fit in your hand ? That grip seems like it would feel a little strange till you get used to it.

My FIL had a 5" one and Woody they feel pretty good in the hand in my book. I hope Don will let us know more as time goes by on this one. I never got to fire FIL's gun and now my wife's sister owns it so I may get a shot yet!

The Schofield feels pretty good in my hand, not as comfortable as a colt type grip but I am alot more used to them. I have a Uberty Remington 1875 that I don't care for the grip at all. I've also shot a few Ruger bisley models and found them to be comfortable too.
