awhile back I bought a 223 barrel to put on one of my H&R handi rifles, but then found out that I could only put a high pressure barrel on a "rifle" frame made after 1986. all of mine are older than that. so recently Davidsons had put the H&R buffalo Carbine on sale. this is a 45LC barrel[low pressure] on a high pressure frame. that got the squirrels in my head all running their wheels at the same time.[ and in the same direction.] I bought the 45 swaped the frames and stocks till I now have two rifles for $260. 223 45LC And yes Im jazzed, even for me this is a score! by the way there is no H&R forum. H&R is owned by Marlin, who is owned by Remington , So I put her here. DR

Outstanding pair of rifles! I love 'em both, esp. the 45 Colt! Great wood on this pair too. Congrats!

I've got the Rossi 223, single shot, but it don't have the bull barrel on it. I'm kinda figurin that Lumpy will be big enough to use it for hunting this year.

well I started a new project today, a H&R 22 hornet. I had an empty frame and an extra stock, and a barrel came up on another board. Ill post pics when it gets here. Im really wanting to either paint or dye the stock dayglo green. a green hornet painted on it, maybe even Kato also! DR

well I started looking at dye processes, and I dont think I can get it bright enough and still show the wood grain so Im going to paint it. from what Im reading it takes a reflective surface before I even paint it to get the effect I want. 1 coat of epoxy primer, one coat of brightest white, then topcoat with the dayglo green. then Im looking at either the green hornet's emblem [ from the 1960s tv show] or a veriation of the Sea Bees emblem. http://www.seabeesinfohq.org/bigbeew.jpg
