Thanks, I'm pumped. This thing should be a solid 300yd Yote gun with good ammo if I can hang. I 'bout fell out when I found this thing in a pawnshop. Ran home, got my glasses and bore light and went right back.

This is one of two they took in and the other was in .308, in the box, unfired. The .270 would not fit in the box due to the scope, but I saw no wear marks at all in the bore and chamber. They wanted 450, and I crawfished a bit. The dude said "Well, since you got that big piece of holstered stainless on ya, you obviously know what you want, so for you today.............. how 'bout 375."
I say "You do layaway for a week or so?" He says "Yep, and if something comes up, just let me know, I'll hold it for ya."

So there it is. A used, though new looking to me, Varmint gun for less than half price new, plus the scope and rings add on.
Hope it shoots as well as it looks like it will.  Afro

BTW, OC'ing a boomer has it's advantages at times I guess.  Cheesy Cheesy

Very nice, nice cal., nice price. I have some brass if your going to reload.

I'll be using factory rounds for now, until I find what it likes. My understanding is that might be out the window if I start reloading, but I know nothing about loading for anything other than field loads for shotgun, so I'm behind and at the factory's mercy here.

If I do decide to try it, I'll warn you guys right now. It'll be up to you to keep me from blowing myself up. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Nice one there Erc! .270 is a good caliber, but I have no experience with the .270 WSM. Be interesting to see how it works out for you. Man, this is going to be a great meet this year with all of the different acquisitions we have for Show and Tell.   Afro

Oh yeah, I saw it, why you think I just bought another gun 'stead of tooling up to reload 7.62 in modern stuff? Mosin would be a good gun I reckon, I just don't wanna bugger it up with mounting a rifle scope, and not sure how the scoutmount and LER would work for me.

'Sides, It made one very good argument with the accountant as to why I "needed" another rifle for Varmints. The Mosin is numbers matching and in fine shape. Don't want to mess it up.  Grin Grin

Indeed it will be my friend. What I've been able to see so far is to zero this thing a 200. It seems to be in between the .270 Win, and 30-06 as far as performance, so .................... depending on bullet weight (lighter weight rounds in my case for my use), it "should be" a bit better than the Savage out past 300 or so  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Seriously though, I just hope the thing was owned by someone that needed quick cash and sold it/pawned it for that reason. I've never bought a pawn shop gun for that reason. If it has a problem, the most likely place to get it gone would be a pawn shop, no matter the hit in lost money. I'm already committed now though so if I get burned, it'll only be this once.
