In October, 1969 my grandfather told me that he was going to get rid of an old revolver he had. I asked him about it and here is his story.

"I was courting your grandmother and she lived a good walk from our home. To get there I had to go past a hobo jungle and at night you never knew when a bo would want to rough you up. I ordered this revolver from Sears & Roebuck, and I think it cost about $5-7. I carried it every time I went up to her house to court her."

To fill in the blanks, we lived in Niskayuna, NY along the southwestern side of the Mohawk River. The New York Central railroad tracks ran along the river and the hobo's had a jungle of shanty's there in the woods. Most of the time they would just come to the door and ask if they could work for food, but when you were in their area you never knew what could happen.

This is his revolver, Hopkins & Allen Break Top, Caliber .32 Smith & Wesson, given to me on October 3, 1969.

Thanks Erc and Woody. Yes, I've been digging in the locker, and I even found that Walther P22 I forgot about. Um, Erc, you might want to put up a Stevens Rifle page.

Woody, the two H&A's are still shooters but I would not put a blank in the H&R.
